Guide
Automatically collect job postings from LinkedIn and Indeed
For recruitment agencies, staffing agencies and secondment firms that want to collect their clients’ or their market’s job postings without searching every day. Which options there are, what they cost in time and upkeep, and what to do with the result.
In short
There are four ways to collect job postings from LinkedIn and Indeed automatically: the free job alerts on both sites, copying search results into Excel by hand, setting up a scraper yourself, or using a job vacancy monitoring tool. For a recruitment agency the last option works best: a tool like Nice Hunt follows LinkedIn, Indeed and the company’s own careers page for every client, merges the same vacancy found on different sites and uses AI to judge which vacancies fit your field.
Why automate it?
Every new vacancy on screen the same day, without searching.
Keeping track of dozens of clients’ vacancies by hand quickly takes hours a week: going through LinkedIn, Indeed and careers pages, repeating searches, copying everything into a list. Collecting them automatically takes that work away, so your account managers spend their time calling instead of searching.
- New vacancies from LinkedIn, Indeed and careers pages in one list
- No more dozens of tabs, saved searches and separate emails
- The same vacancy on several sites counts once
Four options
How to collect job postings automatically
Each option has its place. What fits depends on how many clients you follow and what you want to do with the vacancies.
Free
LinkedIn and Indeed job alerts
You set up an alert per search and receive new vacancies by email. Quick to set up, but per site and per search, without careers pages and without a list you can filter or share.
Free, takes time
Copying into Excel by hand
Copying search results into a spreadsheet. Fine for a one-off list, but LinkedIn and Indeed have no built-in export of search results, so it remains copy and paste.
Technical
Setting up a scraper yourself
A scraper or scraping service collects job postings at scale. It takes technical knowledge and upkeep whenever a site changes, and attention to the sites’ terms of use and the GDPR.
Subscription
A job vacancy monitoring tool
Starts from your client list, collects from LinkedIn, Indeed and careers pages on a fixed schedule and filters on what is relevant to you. The provider takes care of collecting and upkeep.
What you collect
What a useful list of job postings contains
A list of vacancies is only useful if you can act on it straight away. Make sure you get at least this for every vacancy:
-
Job title and company, so you see which client or prospect it concerns.
-
Location, to judge whether you have candidates nearby.
-
Source and link per site, even when the same vacancy is on LinkedIn, Indeed and the careers page.
-
Date it was found, so you know what is genuinely new.
-
Whether it is still online, so filled vacancies drop off your list automatically.
-
Whether it fits your field, judged on your own job titles rather than on keywords.
-
The account manager, so the right person picks it up.
-
Export to Excel or CSV, to take it into your CRM or your own reports.

Can you collect job postings from LinkedIn automatically?
Yes. LinkedIn job alerts email you new vacancies for a search. If you want all your clients’ vacancies in one list, together with Indeed and their careers pages, you use a job vacancy monitoring tool such as Nice Hunt, which collects them for you on a fixed schedule.
How do you get Indeed job postings into Excel?
Indeed has no built-in export of search results. You can copy them by hand, or use a tool that collects the vacancies for you and exports them to Excel or CSV. In Nice Hunt you export all your clients’ vacancies at once, including the source, the link and the reason the AI did or didn’t see it as a match.
Can you also collect vacancies from company careers pages?
Yes, and it matters: many employers post a vacancy on their own website first, or only there. Nice Hunt also follows each client’s careers page. If a site consistently can’t be read, Nice Hunt tells you, and Indeed and LinkedIn simply carry on.
Do you get the same vacancy twice if it is on several sites?
Not in Nice Hunt. If the same vacancy is on the careers page, Indeed and LinkedIn, you see it once, with a separate link for each site.
How often are vacancies collected?
On a schedule you choose, for example twice a week early in the morning. Favourite clients can be scanned a few extra times a day, and you can always run a scan in between with one click.
Does it work for vacancies in Belgium too?
Yes. You choose the countries Nice Hunt searches on Indeed and LinkedIn, for example the Netherlands and Belgium.
